Physiotherapists are primary health care professionals with a significant role in health promotion and treatment of injury and disease. They combine their in-depth knowledge of the body and how it works with specialized hands-on clinical skills to assess, diagnose and treat symptoms of illness, injury or disability. (Canadian Physiotherapy Association, 2013).

My physiotherapy services include manual therapy which encompasses peripheral joint and spinal mobilizations and manipulations, soft tissue techniques and mobilization of the nervous system. I also provide motor retraining, advanced exercise prescription, functional work and sport assessments, return to work rehabilitation, post -operative rehab, acupuncture, and education. I provide a patient first treatment plan which is centred around the individual to provide the most specific treatment plan possible. My emphasis is on patient independence and lifetime management.

I am a strong proponent of the dissemination of knowledge. I teach part time at the School of Physiotherapy, Dalhousie University. I also teach post graduate courses for the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and provide mentorship for other physiotherapists who are working towards their FCAMPT certification.
