Treatments - Concussion Care

A concussion is a brain injury that cannot be seen on routine X-rays, CT scans, or MRIs. It affects the way you think, remember and can cause a variety of symptoms including headaches, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, sensitivity to light/sound, balance problems, fatigue, neck pain, anxiety, sadness, sleep disturbance to list a few. Any blow to the head, face or neck, or a blow to the body which causes a sudden jarring of the head may cause a concussion (e.g., a ball to the head, colliding with another person) (Parachute Canada, 2022).

Physiotherapy treatment after a concussion can help you understand what activity is safe to do and help guide you to returning to all the actives you enjoy. We perform a detailed assessment of your neck, and screen your eye movements, balance, posture and if needed, exertion testing. We can help guide you to getting back to work/sport/living your life.
